GEORGE W. BUSH SAYS HE HAS CONFIDENCE IN FBI DIRECTOR FREEH
Appears Unprepared at First Press Conference
(Washington, DC) Today, President George W. Bush held his first press conference – which was called with little notice. He was asked questions about FBI Director Louis Freeh and the exploding Russian spy scandal. Unfortunately, President Bush seemed unprepared to answer questions about the spy scandal, and all he could state was that he had “confidence in Director Freeh; that he is doing a good job.”
“If President Bush had been reading the newspapers over the last many years, he would have learned that Director Freeh has presided over numerous FBI scandals, including but not limited to Waco, Ruby Ridge, the Olympic bombing, the Oklahoma City bombing, and now the Russian spy scandal. In addition, he did little to nothing to force Janet Reno to thoroughly investigate Chinagate.”
“Judicial Watch wishes the new President well; however, he has to get better information on some key issues, and he must become a quick study on what has been going on here in corrupt D.C. Frankly, his responses at the press conference about Director Freeh were embarrassing,” stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman.
