(Washington, DC) Over a week ago, Judicial Watch, the public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and abuse, released its finding that George W. Bush would have won the Florida Presidential election even if there had been a full recount. Judicial Watch’s findings were based on a report by an independent certified public accounting firm (Johnson Lambert & Co.) and documented the likelihood of election fraud in Broward, Palm Beach and other counties. Today, the Miami Herald and USA Today confirmed Judicial Watch’s findings with their own report. It was Judicial Watch who initiated the recount process on November 10, 2000, just three days after the election, by invoking the Florida Public Elections Act. When key counties did not comply with the law, Judicial Watch had to file lawsuits, causing an immediate media explosion leading up to the election trial in Tallahassee before Judge N. Sanders Sauls last fall. The Miami Herald/USA Today and other news media outlets mimicked Judicial Watch and followed suit. Judicial Watch commends the Miami Herald’s reporting on the Florida election. |
