SENATOR TORRICELLI TO BE PROBED BY JUDICIAL WATCH

Government Watchdog Files FOIA Requests And Invites Whistleblowers To Come Forward

New Jersey Senator Accepted Money And Gifts From John Huang And David Chang And Has Reported Ties To The Genovese Crime Family

(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes government abuse and corruption, has announced that it has opened a full-scale investigation into the corrupt practices of Senator Robert G. Torricelli (D-NJ).

Senator Torricelli’s reported ties to organized crime; his campaign contributions and receipt of gifts from John Huang, David Chang and other disreputable persons, is well-known. However, Judicial Watch believes that this reported conduct is just the “tip of the iceberg.”

Judicial Watch invites whistleblowers to come forward with more information about Senator Torricelli. In addition, Judicial Watch has filed FOIA requests with various government agencies seeking information about the Senator’s activities.

“Senator Torricelli, who assisted other Democrats, including but not limited to Senators Levin and Glenn (who also took money from John Huang), Lieberman, and Akaka, in ‘deep sixing’ the Congressional Chinagate hearings in 1997, is one of the most sleazy politicians in the U.S. government. Now is the time to bring him to justice. This will also set an example for other politicians, in all political parties, that they are not above the law,” stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman.
