Hillary Invokes Jesus And The Bible
A latecomer to the heated immigration debate, Hillary Clinton finally spoke out on the issue and, not surprisingly, her view on the matter has changed drastically in only a few years.
In theatrical fashion, the New York senator surrounded herself with a multicultural coalition to earn the week’s sound bite by invoking Biblical themes in vowing to block legislation that seeks to criminalize undocumented immigrants.
Clinton said such legislation is not in keeping with her understanding of the Scriptures and that it would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself.
One political blog comments that Hillary is clearly bluffing since she “has played the race card, the fear card, the Nazi card, and now she’s flopping out the ol’ religion card.” Another blogger pointed out, that if a Republican said the same thing, the press would scream American Taliban and make all kinds of commentary on the inappropriateness of Biblical references on the setting of American policy.
Just three years ago, Clinton was opposed to illegal immigration, saying she was “adamantly against” foreigners who enter the country illegally and even suggested the U.S. impose a national identification card system.
Needless to say, those in charge of protecting our borders don’t have much faith that Clinton would support them if in fact she is elected president. The U.S. Border Patrol’s largest union, Arizona-based Local 2544, sarcastically said it has a peaceful little ocean-front property on the Arizona border to sell to those who believe Clinton will be tough and enforcement-minded.
