Court Hearing Scheduled for Thursday on Vaughn Index of Clinton Emails
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today announced that District Court Judge James E. Boasberg will hold a hearing in the Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit concerning former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s non-state.gov emails, Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:15-cv-00687), on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 9:30 am.
The hearing will address the FOIA request for all Clinton emails sent and received including those beyond the 55,000 produced by Clinton and the scope of the draft Vaughn index for information being withheld from production.
Judicial Watch’s FOIA request seeks:
Any and all records concerning, regarding, or relating to the production of 55,000 emails by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to the U.S. Department of State, excluding any court filings, press statements, or other public documents, or drafts thereof.
In his July 5, 2016, press conference about the Clinton emails, FBI Director James Comey’s stated that the FBI “discovered several thousand work-related e-mails that were not in the group of 30,000 that were returned by Secretary Clinton to State in 2014.” Judicial Watch contends that those emails should be part of the Clinton email production to be provided by the Department of State to Judicial Watch, in addition to the 55,000 pages of emails previously turned over to the agency by Clinton.
Date: Thursday, July 14
Time: 9:30 am ET
