JW VICTORY: Federal Judge Orders DOJ to Preserve Official’s Gmail
From Politico: “A federal judge issued a rare order Tuesday requiring the Justice Department to secure emails that may be in the personal Gmail account of a top department official who’s about to depart his post with the change in administration.
U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan instructed Justice to preserve any emails that Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs Peter Kadzik has in private accounts that could be responsive to Freedom of Information Act requests filed by the conservative group Judicial Watch.”
Below is a tweet by Politico reporter, Josh Gerstein, highlighting the connection to Clinton’s advisor, John Podesta.

Two federal judges ordered top Obama officials, including DHS Sec Jeh Johnson, to preserve government emails in @JudicialWatch litigation.

The ruling to preserve Kadzik’s emails come on the heels of another Judicial Watch victory against the Department of Homeland Security. Recently, a federal court judge ordered the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to produce this week any “preservation requests” for emails sent to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, Deputy Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Chief of Staff Christian Marrone, and General Counsel Stevan Bunnell.
The Obama administration hasn’t lifted a finger to retrieve these public records, which is criminal. Judicial Watch will continue to push for the preservation of government bureaucrat emails to ensure these records are turned over to the public for review.
