DESTRUCTION OF EVIDENCE AT CLINTON INTERIOR DEPARTMENT PART OF A PATTERN OF OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE AND DISRESPECT FOR THE LAW PERVADING ENTIRE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION
Clinton Officials Bring "Vietnam War Far Left Mentality" to Forefront In Administration
Wage a Cultural War to Destroy Institutions of American Society
(Washington, D.C., March 25) The news today in The Washington Times that the Clinton Interior Department -- whose officials have been held in contempt by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia -- have likely destroyed evidence, comes as no surprise to Judicial Watch, the public interest watchdog with 21 lawsuits concerning the wholesale lawlessness pervading the most corrupt Administration in American history. Similar conduct was exhibited by Clinton officials in the lawsuit which uncovered John Huang. See Court's orders of December 22, 1998 at Judicial Watch v. Department of Commerce on internet at www.judicialwatch.org.
Throughout Judicial Watch's 21 lawsuits, it has experienced not only outright obstruction of justice, but also disrespect for the judicial and legal system by Clinton officials and consultants. In its on-going Filegate lawsuit, James Carville lied to the Court about his availability for deposition, and got caught. Carville’s friend, George Stephanopoulos, was also found not to have been truthful during deposition and was ordered back for further testimony. He later walked out of the second deposition, having in the interim period between his first and second appearances called the Court a "Kangaroo Court," in his magazine Newsweek. Video of the deposition of Harold Ickes shows him threatening to defecate on the carpet of Judicial Watch during his testimony. This is just for starters, as this press release does not have enough space to list the wholesale disrespect for the law and obstruction exhibited by Clinton officials and consultants during Judicial Watch's litigation.
"It is clear that the Clinton scandals have, ironically, played into the hands of the "far left revolutionaries" who are latent in this Administration. By trifling with the Courts, demeaning its powers, and continuously obstructing justice with seeming impunity (the Senate has just confirmed that this conduct is not politically actionable, by its low standards), the Clinton officials, much like they did in their Vietnam years, are trying to destroy the institutions of society one by one. When this is accomplished, they will no doubt emerge from their ‘Trojan horse,’ to have their successors move the country to the far left. The far left, which in its extreme form believes that 'materialism' is God, are waiting in the wings to fulfill its goal," stated Judicial Watch Chairman Larry Klayman and President Tom Fitton. "If Judicial Watch and others don't put their foot down now, it may be too late for this country to return to Judeo-Christian values," they added.
