HOUSE MANAGERS "TOW THE LINE" AND ASK ONLY FOR THREE WITNESSES

Its Time to End the Charade Either Congress Should "Dance or Sit Down"

Larry Klayman and Tom Fitton, Chairman and President of Judicial Watch, issued the following statement in response to the decision of House impeachment managers to throw in the towel and request only 3 witnesses:

"Its an old adage that when you get up to dance, either you dance or sit down. The House, which limited impeachment to only the Lewinsky scandal, despite 38 on-going Clinton scandals far more serious than Lewinsky -- now has compromised yet once again, for political reasons. A trial is either for real, or not. Three witnesses, particularly Lewinsky, Vernon Jordan and Sidney Blumenthal, will not carry the day, particularly since Republican Senators are not inclined to impeach and convict Bill Clinton. Nor, as requested, will a voluntary appearance by Bill Clinton ever occur.

It is therefore time for Republicans to end the charade and admit to the American people that they don't have the guts to do what needs to be done; convict and remove the President from office. To continue this farce is simply to waste time and taxpayer resources. It is now up to public interest groups, citizens, and the press to bring this President and his Administration to justice."
