TRENT LOTT KILLS SENATE PARDONGATE INVESTIGATION Lott Also Killed Clinton Impeachment Trial (Washington, DC) Today, the New York Post reported in an article by Vincent Morris that: Yesterday�s Pardongate developments came amid signs that [Republican] Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott � who praised President Bush for ignoring the pardon issue � is unenthusiastic about the probe. And Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.), who was leading a separate pardon probe, appears to have temporarily shelved his investigation. Several lawmakers added that the plan to merge the House and Senate pardon probes also is dead. Bush�s remarks that the Pardongate scandal should not be looked into and that instead, �It�s time to move on.� Senator Lott, who himself does fundraising through the University of Mississippi (Bill Clinton uses the University of Arkansas for his Presidential Library), should be ashamed.
